Visiting St. Mark’s

We welcome all visitors, wherever they are on their spiritual journey. For a list of our regular service times, click here.

St. Mark’s is located at the corner of Bancroft Way and Ellsworth Street, directly across the street from the south side of the UC Berkeley campus. Larger services are held in the nave (the main church building) with entrances on both Bancroft and Ellsworth. Smaller services are held in the chapel, which can be entered from Bancroft. Our offices, parish hall, and library can be entered at our official mailing address of 2300 Bancroft Way. Lions Hall, the site of social events, can be accessed via the steps on the Ellsworth side of the property.

If you have any questions about visiting St. Mark’s, or need any assistance, please contact our office.

Parking

Free parking is available during all Sunday services and other major feast days in the garage adjacent to St. Mark’s. The entrance to the garage is located at 2315 Ellsworth Street, between Durant and Bancroft. Parking vouchers are available for those attending mid-week services, committee meetings, or church social events. No overnight parking is allowed.

If the Ellsworth garage is full, there is a UC Berkeley parking garage on the north side of Bancroft Way at Ellsworth, across the street from the church. Street parking is also available, but can be difficult to find.

Transit

St. Mark’s is located next to AC Transit bus lines 6, 36, 51B, 52, and 79. We are also located approximately 1/2 a mile from the Downtown Berkeley BART station.

Childcare

Children are always welcome in the liturgy at St. Mark’s! Parents with young children are welcome to use the carpeted areas near the front and rear of the south side of the nave, if they choose. Changing tables are available in the Lions Hall restrooms. For assistance, see an usher.

Accessibility

The accessible entrance to the nave and chapel is located on Bancroft Way. We also have an elevator that connects to the Ellsworth parking garage and provides access to the south side of the nave via the patio, along with all other areas of the parish buildings. The entrance to the elevator is in the same corner as the accessible parking spot in the garage. Access to the chancel (elevated location of the altar at the front of the nave) is provided via a lift in the chapel, for those who need it. Please see an usher for assistance.

If you have other questions about accessibility at St. Mark’s, please contact the parish office.
