Adrian Gunning will offer an organ recital as part of the 32nd season of the second Sunday Evensong/Organ recital series. His program will include:

* Buxtehude: ‘Vater unser im Himmelreich’, Präludium und Fuga in g minor,
* Mozart: Minuetto & Allegro,
* Goodwin: Voluntary III and Voluntary,
* Christoph-Kellner: Preludium in C,
* Fournier: Cloches,
* Buxtehude: Präludium und Fuga in a minor, BuxWv153.
Mr. Gunning is organist of the Roman Catholic Church of St John the Evangelist, Duncan Terrace, Islington, London UK. Prior to his appointment at Islington he was organist at the celebrated Roman Catholic Church of St James’s, Spanish Place in Westminster, London from 1977-1985. During this time he discovered the impressionistic and unmistakable sound world of Charles Tournemire’s plainsong inspired organ music. He is known by many as a leading interpreter of Tournemire’s music and especially his famous cycle L’Orgue Mystique. He has made a particular study of this music, having performed, recorded and broadcast it in Europe, America and Australia.
